Before today's semi-final between China and Japan, umpire Kang Hyun Young from Korea was awarded the Golden Whistle for umpiring her 100th international match. Kang was presented with the whistle and a gift by FIH President Leandro Negre.

Kang Hyun Young from Korea is 39 years old. She began umpiring internationally in 2003 at the Afro-Asian Games and has supervised two Champions Trophies, two Asian Games, one World Cup and one Olympic Games.
